The best part of Thanksgiving? The pie

Hi Reader,

Thanksgiving desserts are all about pie for me. Pumpkin is an absolute must for me on Thanksgiving, but I also like a small sliver of apple cranberry or key lime pie to round things out. πŸ˜‰

I used to be completely intimidated about making pies, especially pie crust, but now pies are my favorite desserts to make.

Before we dive into some of my favorite holiday-worthy pie recipes, I want to share my go-to tools and bakeware:

How to Bake the Perfect Pie Crust

Fool Proof Flaky Pie Crust

Pie crust seems intimidating, but this recipe will change your mind. It comes together in 10 minutes in your food processor and includes all the tips and tricks you need to make it. It's a reader favorite!

My Top Pie Recipes for Thanksgiving

Spiced Chai Pumpkin Pie

This is a delicious twist on traditional pumpkin pie! It's sweetened with maple syrup and has the warm flavor of my easy chai spice. I love it even more than the classic!

Apple Pie Bars

I love apple pie, but it's time consuming to make. These apple pie bars are almost effortless with a press-in crust that comes together in minutes!

Pumpkin Pie from Scratch

This classic pumpkin pie recipe is tried and true with a flaky pie crust and creamy pumpkin filling with warm spice flavor. Plus it can be made completely in advance!

Apple Cranberry Pie

This is one of my favorite fall combinations, and it works so well for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It's tart, sweet and brimming with chunky apples and cranberries!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie

I love cheesecake, but it can be a hassle baking it in a water bath and worrying about cracks. This pumpkin cheesecake pie is luscious and creamy and so much easier, plus it bakes up in a fraction of the time!

Key Lime Pie

While this pie isn't traditional for most, I've been serving it on Thanksgiving for over 25 years. It's one of the easiest pies to make and it always disappears first on Thanksgiving. Can't find key limes? Use regular limes or even lemon!

Homemade Whipped Cream

No pie is truly complete without this. It's made with just 3 ingredients and is so much more fresh tasting than the store-bought stuff! There's just no going back.

Tonight I'll be home enjoying cozy food and passing out Halloween candy to the kiddos. Tomorrow, onto all things Thanksgiving! For now, I'm leaving you with (5) recipes to try this week. You'll find...

Butternut squash mac and cheese

Hi Reader, I adore every variety of winter squash imaginable, but the one that I use the most often for its sweet, nutty flavor and versatility is butternut squash. I love it so much that I have created tutorials on how to peel and cut it and how to roast it whole so that it's not so intimidating to work with. And of course there is a handy produce guide on butternut squash that you can find below. I love roasting it and using it in salads, purΓ©eing it into soup, using it in risotto or simply...
